1. ANNUAL EVENTS COMMITTEE

Members: Ana Anders, Elsa Berenstein, Maria Hessie, Marta Leon-Monzon, Ofelia Olivero, Catalina Ramos, Migdalia Rivera-Goba, Bernardo Rosa, Lucy Sierra, Mike Sesma
Goals:
- Responsible for planning and preparing all NIH-HEO events and activities.
- Responsible for planning and organizing the Hispanic Heritage Month of events at the NIH.

2. MENTORING/OUTREACH COMMITTEE
Chair: Ofelia Olivero
Members: Juan Mendoza, Maria Hessie, Hideko Takahashi, Yvonne Vargas, Migdalia Rivera-Goba
Goals:
- Develop and institute programs designed to address a regular or ongoing involvement with a community based organization.
- Outreach program will have the concurrence of the Executive Committee and the
approval of the general membership.
- Develop programs for the chapter to address the needs of and to develop opportunities
for Hispanic young adults who are employed at NIH.
- Sponsored activities will specifically:

- Attract young adults to scientific/NIH careers;
- Develop a mentor program;
- Enhance communication and leadership skills;
- Strengthen relationships between generations.
